Hi,
My name is Jerry Goochee. I was born and grew up in the Port Allegany, Pa. area. I currently live in Virginia with my wife of 34 years. We have four adult children and six grandchildren. We are very blessed!
The inspiration for the Festival of Choirs USA came about in 1994. In August of 2009 we had the very first Festival.
On the Festival’s sign that has been placed in the ground where the Festival is held each year has this written on it: “Restoring the Choirs”. This is what the Festival is all about.
The Festival is registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for: Promoting public awareness of the need to reestablish and reinvigorate the choirs that were once in small town churches.
The Festival is meant to help, equip and anything else that can be done to encourage choirs to start or continue to sing in their local churches.
There is just something unique that a choir or worship team with four part harmony brings to a church service. There is a sense of a blending, unity and majesty.
Please encourage your church to come, listen or participate in the Festival. Some Churches are using the Festival as a fall kick-off for their choirs.
If there is anything else that we can help you with please let us know. Our contact information is on the “Contact us” tab at the top of the website’s main page.
The Festival is held at 807 Skinner Creek Road, Port Allegany, PA, 16743. However, that is NOT our mailing address. Use the “Contact us” form as it’s the best way to reach us.
Be Blessed, Jerry
