The Festival of Choirs USA® is a church choir event. It will be held on May 13th this year. This will be our ninth year and we are going to have a great and exciting time!!!! The Festival is a free event and open to the public. It will begin at 9:30 am and run to around 4:30 – 5:00 pm.
This year’s Festival will be held at the:
Sawyer Evangelical Church
777 South Kendall Ave.
Bradford, PA 16701
The Festival is registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for: Promoting public awareness of the need to re-establish and re-invigorate the choirs that were once in small town churches and communities.
We are not a non-profit organization. Funding comes from private donations, free will offerings and our food sales. Some of our items are the chocolate chip cookies and Ruth’s pecan caramel popcorn that you got to try!
The choirs have two ways to register by:
1. Online. Go to www.festivalofchoirsusa.com and click on the “Register” tab at the top of the home page and fill out the information.
2. By mail. Mail the choir’s information to the Festival’s mailing address. That address is:
Festival of Choirs USA, 807 Skinner Creek Road, Port Allegany, PA 16743
Upon receiving the choir’s registration and song choice, the committee will respond to let them know if their song selection has been accepted. If it hasn’t the choir is able to submit another song choice. We do this so we do not end up with different choirs singing the same song. The choir will also receive information about the song that will be sung at the finale by all of the registered choirs in a combined choir.
Participating church choirs from around the region that have registered will be comprised of the choir members from the church that is singing. We also welcome churches that have larger group sizes. We like if possible, not mandatory though, for each church to have a minimum of 1 soprano, 1 alto, 1 tenor and 1 bass in their choir. We will have an electronic piano and sound system at the Festival for the Choir’s use. The churches can pick a song choice between a traditional church hymn or contemporary Christian. Submit the church’s song choice with the church’s registration.
Please ask your congregation to make time to come out and support the churches that have registered. Be blessed and have a great day,
Jerry J. Goochee
